Spring-Winter

Spring-winter is the time of year when the Arctic landscape reveals its most beautiful and generous side. It is a period that locals often refer to as the “fifth season.”

Sun, warmth and skiing

There is a time that is hard to describe in words; it simply must be experienced. It’s when the harshness of the Arctic winter yields to a sun that has suddenly begun to warm, while the snow remains deep and sparkling white. We call it vårvinter (spring-winter in Swedish) – a time of total harmony and pure joy.

the light that never wants to leave

During spring-winter, the mountain is transformed into one vast, sun-drenched playground. This is when you can experience the unique combination of crisp sub-zero temperatures in the shade and a sun so powerful against the cabin walls that the down jacket comes off. It’s the season for long, smooth turns on fresh corduroy in the morning, followed by that unbeatable lunch break in a snow pit, where the orange tastes a little sweeter and the coffee from the thermos smells a little richer.
