Sweden’s oldest ski school was established between Christmas and New Year in 1934, on the initiative of slalom pioneers Olle Rimfors and Sigge Bergman. They had been in Austria, where they learned ‘modern’ downhill skiing at the ski legend Hannes Schneider’s ski school in St. Anton am Arlberg. Olle and Sigge brought their lessons back to Sweden, specifically to Riksgränsen, and officially started the ski school there on 17 April 1935. The ski school ran for six weeks, and a day’s ticket cost three kronor. For that, you received four hours of instruction—two hours in the morning and two in the afternoon. We celebrate this historic event with a bang and welcome Mr. Ski from Austria in person.
Ski the Austrian Way 1-4 May

Together with instructors from the Ski Austrian Academy in St. Christoph, you’ll have the opportunity to ‘Ski the Austrian Way.’ The Ski the Austrian Way course is organised in cooperation with the Swedish Ski Teachers’ Association and is ISIA-founded with a supplement of SEK 800 paid to SSLF.
From 1-4 May, we offer a package for true ski enthusiasts that includes accommodation, breakfast, a 90th birthday dinner for Mr. Ski on Saturday, ski pass, and course fees.
