During the Easter weekend, Lappis will be open for evening dining Thursday to Saturday, serving a cozy menu – perfect after a full day on the mountain.
In winter, the Meteorologen bar is an exceptional meeting place for skiers and snowboarders from all over the world. The bar is designed like a cozy living room, making it easy to meet and mingle.

Welcome to Riksgränsen
Welcome to Riksgränsen, Sweden’s northernmost and most legendary ski resort. Nowhere else will you be so pampered in terms of feeling of freedom, natural snow and varied skiing terrain, on both the piste and off-piste. If you haven’t been here already, you really have something to look forward to. If you have been here, you know what we are talking about. On a good day, there is no ski resort in Sweden that can match skiing in Riksgränsen.

Hotel Riksgränsen is the heart of the village, centrally located only 100 meters from the ski system and just as close to the train station. At Hotell Riksgränsen you live comfortably in our hotel or ski in ski out rooms, or in a self-catered apartments! Here you will also find Restaurant Lapplandia, the bar Grönan, sports shop and Relaxen SPA & Sauna with views of the Lapland mountain world and Lake Vassijaure.
The meteorologist ski lodge is located directly adjacent to the hotel in the old customs house, which after a careful renovation has become a cozy and cozy ski lodge.
Hostel Riksgränsen is located in the middle of Riksgränsen, a stone’s throw from the hotel, the train station and our ski area.
The campsite in Riksgränsen is beautifully situated next to Lake Vassijaure and with a view of the entire facility.
For an experience beyond the ordinary, we recommend a night at Låktatjåkko Mountain Station. Låktatjåkko has been a popular destination for hikers and skiers since 1939. The mountain station is Sweden’s highest located at 1228 m above sea level and is spectacularly located in a pass between two mountain peaks, 14 km from Riksgränsen and 9km from Björkliden.
In Riksgränsen there is something for all tastes. Feeling like a thick, juicy burger out in the sun while admiring the snow crested peaks? Or what say you to a delectable 3-course dinner in a charming, rustic alpine environment?
Do you want to experience a midsummer like no other? In Riksgränsen, we celebrate midsummer traditionally with skiing. Of course, there will be dancing around the maypole, herring, and potatoes, but it is the skiing under the midnight sun that we look forward to the most.

By flight – By plane you travel from Stockholm to Kiruna in about 1.5 hours. From there, you take a bus, train or car on to Riksgränsen. The transfer between Kiruna and Riksgränsen takes about 1.5 hours, so it takes no more than about four hours from Stockholm to Riksgränsen.
By train
By train – Step onboard the train in Stockholm or Gothenburg at night and wake up amidst the fantastic mountain scenery the next day. You will reach Riksgränsen by lunch time. SJ runs the leg between Stockholm and Björkliden, which takes approximately 18 hours. From Riksgränsen train station, it’s only 100 metres down to Hotell Riksgränsen.
By car
By car – While driving north on the E4 highway, turn left at Töre and take the E10 highway towards Kiruna and Narvik. You will find us just before you reach the Norwegian border.
With SJ you can travel by night train from Stockholm all the way to Björkliden. Choose if you want to book a seat, or buy a ticket to sleeping car – the night train has two departures every day in both directions. Make it easy for you and go by train! The most climate friendly option to travel by.
Riksgränsen – Sweden’s northern-most and most legendary ski resort
Riksgränsen is a special place, with a long and special history. The amount of snow that once depopulated the town has today attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors.
We went to Riksgränsen for the early part of the ski season. The hotel has a lot to offer, a cozy lounge, a good restaurant (excellent buffets), a small spa, and many other facilities. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
