LAPLAND RESORTS AB’S GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR THE RENTAL OF CABINS, HOTEL ROOMS, ETC.

Ordering and payments

Bookings are valid for both Lapland Resorts AB and the customer as soon as Lapland Resorts AB has confirmed the booking (a booking number has been allocated) and the customer has not cancelled the booking within 10 days. The total amount of the booking must be paid in full no later than 40 days before arrival. By paying, the customer has accepted the conditions for payment and cancellation. Bookings can be cancelled within 10 days of the booking date at no cost. Cancellation after 10 days will result in the booking cancellation fees being charged. If cancellation has not been made within 10 days (from the booking date), the booking is confirmed, and the conditions for payment and cancellation enter into force. For bookings made less than 10 days before the date of arrival the free cancellation policy does not apply and payment is due immediately. It is the customer’s responsibility to check the confirmation and ensure that the arrival and departure dates are correct. When the booking is made via our online booking portal the total amount due is debited from your bank or credit card at the time of the booking. It is not possible to make preliminary bookings online. To confirm a booking payment details must be provided at the time of booking. Please note that you cannot use gift certificates when making online bookings. If you have a gift certificate, please contact our reservations department.

Price and changes to prices

Should there be any changes to the relevant tax, general fees or exchange rates that directly affect the industry, Lapland Resorts AB reserves the right to pass on the corresponding modifications to the rental fee. The rental fee may not, however, be modified less than twenty (20) days before the scheduled arrival date.

Cancelations

For cancellations made more than forty (40) days before the scheduled arrival date, customers must only pay a booking fee in the value of 20% of the total cost of the booking, plus any eventual fee for cancellation protection. For cancellations made less than forty (40) days before the scheduled arrival date, customers must pay ninety per cent (90%) of the total rental amount for the cabin/room. In case of cancellation on the day of arrival the customer shall pay 100% of the booked value. If the customer has not signed Lapland Resorts AB’s cancellation insurance and cancel their stay on their own request no refund will be made for the remaining stay. Customers can cancel/reschedule Lapland Resorts AB:s bus transfer, activities, ski passes, ski school lessons and ski hire up to 3 days before the first day of validity, and have the paid amount returned to the account informed to Lapland Resorts AB, said amount being subject to an eventual administration fee. Cancellations can be made in writing or verbally. Verbal cancellations shall only be valid when written confirmation by Lapland Resorts AB is received by the customer. Cancellations in writing will be considered to be valid at the time the cancellation is received by Lapland Resorts AB.

Cancellation protection for illness, etc.

Customers have the right to sign up for cancellation protection, at a cost of SEK 350 per booking, when making the booking. The fee for cancellation protection will not be returned for cancellations. With the exception of an administration fee of 20% of the full amount and the cancellation protection fee, the cancellation protection means that the customer is protected from cancellation costs under the following conditions, which must not have been known about at the time the booking was made.

a) An illness/accident of a grave nature or the death of the customer, customer’s husband/wife, partner, family member or member of the party for which the booking was made;

b) A summons to the armed forces or civil defence;

c) Any other grave event outside the customer’s control, which the customer could not foresee when making the booking and that makes it unfeasible to maintain the booking, for example an extensive fire or flood at the customer’s home.

The cancellation must be made at least one (1) day before the scheduled arrival date. The cancellation can be made in writing or verbally. Verbal cancellations shall only be valid when written confirmation by Lapland Resorts AB is received by the customer. Cancellations in writing will be considered to be valid at the time the cancellation is received by Lapland Resorts AB. In order to claim the cancellation protection, the customer must be able to back his or her claim with supporting documentation from, for example, a doctor, local authority or insurance company. This documentation must be sent to Lapland Resorts AB in as timely a manner as possible, preferably within a week of the date of the booking. For trips that are cut short, Lapland Resorts AB will return the paid amount for remaining whole days only if the reason for the interruption depends on the conditions relating to points a), b) or c) above.

Changes

Customers have the right to change their booking after it has been confirmed by Lapland Resorts AB. Lapland Resorts AB will charge an administration fee of two hundred Swedish crowns (SEK 200) per change. Lapland Resorts AB reserves the right to move the customer to another cabin/room/apartment of equal value upon events outside Lapland Resorts AB’s control. Whenever possible, Lapland Resorts AB will inform the customer of such changes before check-in, but otherwise as soon as possible. The customer does not have the right to fully or partially refrain from paying the agreed fees on the grounds of changes under this provision.

Customers’ rights

Customers can rescind the agreement if Lapland Resorts AB does not provide the cabin/room/apartment in the agreed to condition or time and date and is unable to offer a cabin/room/apartment of equal price as per point 5.2 above. Should the customer rescind the agreement on these grounds, Lapland Resorts AB shall return the entire rental amount minus a deduction for the use the customer may have made of the cabin/room. The customer can, instead of rescinding the agreeement, request that Lapland Resorts AB mark down the rental amount.

Customers’ responsibilities

Customers must care for the cabin/room/apartment properly and follow the house rules, guidelines and provisions valid for the accommodation. Customers are responsible for all damage suffered by the cabin/room/apartment and their inventories if the customer or anyone in the customer’s company has been negligent. The cabin/room/apartment may not be used for any other purpose than that agreed upon at the time of booking and the customer may not allow more people to spend the night in the cabin/room/apartment than the number given at the time of the booking. For bookings of cabins, the cabin must be left in clean conditions. Should this condition not be met, a cleaning fee will be charged. All rooms/cabins and communal areas are non-smoking.

War, natural disasters, strikes, etc.

The parties have the right to rescind the agreement if the cabin/room/apartment cannot be used on the grounds of war, natural disasters, labour market conflicts, extended interruptions to the supply of water or electricity, fire damage or other similarly significant events that cannot be foreseen or avoided. Should the agreement be rescinded as per this provision, Lapland Resorts AB will repay any monies paid by the customer, with a deduction of the use made by the customer of the cabin/room. Lapland Resorts AB reimburses only what the customer has paid, during transport strikes/disputes, if the transport has been booked by Lapland Resorts AB.

Complaints

Any eventual comments should be made promptly during the inspection to the facilities or to a person appointed by the facilities. Customers do not have the right to claim for errors if the customer does not, within a timely manner after noticing or after the customer should have noticed the error, notify the error to Lapland Resorts AB.

Disputes

In the event that customers have a complaint to raise and agreement cannot be reached between Lapland Resorts AB and the customer, the customer has the option to forward the dispute to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Complaints or the general courts.

LAPLAND RESORTS AB’S SPECIFIC CONDITIONS FOR PACKAGE TOURS

Customers’ right to cancellation of package tours (for flights, see 4)

For cancellations made more than forty (40) days prior to the day of departure customers must only pay the booking fee of 20% of the total cost of the trip, plus any eventual cancellation insurance. For cancellations made less than forty (40), but more than fourteen (14) days before the departure date, customers must pay fifteen per cent (15%) of the full cost of the booking. For cancellations made less than fourteen (14), but more than twenty four (24) hours before the departure, customers must pay fifty per cent (50%) of the full cost of the booking. For cancellations made less than twenty four (24) hours before the departure, customers must pay the full cost of the booking. Cancellations can be made in writing or verbally. Verbal cancellations shall only be valid when written confirmation by Lapland Resorts AB is received by the customer. Cancellations in writing will be considered to be valid at the time the cancellation is received by Lapland Resorts AB.

Cancellation protection for illness, etc.

c) Any other grave event outside the traveller’s control, which the traveller could not foresee when making the booking and that makes it unfeasible to maintain the booking, for example an extensive fire or flood at the traveller’s home.

Cancellations of package tours must be made at least 24 hours before departure. Cancellations can be made in writing or verbally. Verbal cancellations shall only be valid when written confirmation by Lapland Resorts AB is received by the customer. Cancellations in writing will be considered to be valid at the time the cancellation is received by Lapland Resorts AB. Travellers must be able to provide supporting documentation from, for example, doctors, the authorities or insurance companies. This documentation must be sent to Lapland Resorts AB in as timely a manner as possible, preferably within a week of the date of the booking. For trips that are cut short, Lapland Resorts AB will return the paid amount for remaining whole days only if the reason for the interruption depends on the conditions relating to points a), b) or c) above.

Cancellation of package tours involving flights

For cancellations of package tours involving flights, the traveller must always pay for the part of the package tour relating to the cost of the flights. This responsibility is valid even when travellers have opted for cancellation protection and regardless of when the cancellation is received by Lapland Resorts AB (see point 1.1 above).

Changes

Travellers have the right to change their booking no later than twenty one (21) days prior to departure, under the condition that it is possible to make another booking (subject to availability). Lapland Resorts AB will charge an administration fee of two hundred Swedish crowns (SEK 200) per change, per traveller. Lapland Resorts AB reserves the right to move the traveller to another cabin/room/apartment of equal value upon events outside Lapland Resorts AB’s control. Whenever possible, Lapland Resorts AB will inform the traveller of such changes before check-in, but otherwise as soon as possible. The traveller does not have the right to fully or partially refrain from paying the agreed fees on the grounds of changes under this provision. Lapland Resorts AB has given guarantees to the Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency as per the Package Tour Act and the Travel Guarantee Act The ”General Conditions for Package Tours” as per the 2002 agreement between the Swedish Consumer Agency, Swedish Bus and Coach Federation, Swedish Travel and Tourist Industry Federation, Föreningen Svenska Bilresearrangörer [Association of Swedish Car Trip Arrangers] and the Swedish Tourism Network are valid for Lapland Resorts AB’s package tours. The specific conditions below replace and complement the ”General Conditions for Package Tours” when applicable. Should the conditions of the ”General Conditions for Package Tours” deviate from Lapland Resorts AB’s specific conditions for package tours, these latter should be the ones in force.
